Effective April 22, 2010 anyone that performs renovation on a home built before 1978 must meet new training requirements to ensure that the work is contained and cleaned up properly to not cause any lead based paint hazards.  Under the new laws, contractors are required to test all of the affected painted surfaces prior to beginning work to determine whether if lead paint is present using chemical spot tests which are not 100% accurate.

In response to the EPA's new training requirements, we are offering "limited lead paint inspections" for homeowners that are interested in having renovations performed.   What this limited inspection would be is a simple report that would inform the homeowner and potential renovators if lead based paint is present in the components that are to be affected by the proposed renovation.  An inspection report will allow contractors to bid on the project accordingly and ensure that the testing results are accurate.
